Who Are You?

What is it that makes you, you?  We ask this of ourselves in different ways everyday.  Otherwise, who are you?  Seems like a simple question doesn’t it?  Have you ever sat down and really thought about yourself and what makes you tick?  I’m sure I can safely say that not many of us actually do, including myself.  I find myself thinking about this topic in relation to my photography as of late.  The subjects that I shoot, the gear that I have and deciding what is it that I really enjoy shooting.  As you will see from my samples online I shoot many styles but is that really what makes me happy??  That is the million dollar question.

I love the face to face in a one on one session with a person to capture their inner soul, their inner beauty and I seem to have a knack for getting people to release those inner attributes after talking and getting to know me a bit.  I’m a genuine person and am passionate about what I produce for people.  I find that I am more passionate about certain subjects over others.

This is the part where you provide some input, what are your motivations in whatever it is that you do?  How do you get from point A to point B in a way that keeps you motivated and passionate?  I’m interested in reading because I’m hoping it will help me find my passion and motivation to become that photographer that I know I can be.

Adversity

I wanted to share my thoughts on the last several months regarding Covid and all the sacrifices we are making to try and keep the spread at bay.

The last year has seen many small businesses fall to the restrictions and imposed lockdowns by our Government. However it seems that the big box establishments are making more and more money. Many of you will feel this isn’t right.

But what is adversity? Is it failing businesses, personal trauma, or new challenges we face everyday. I would like to share the following article regarding my friend (pictured on this post) regarding what I feel is overcoming true adversity.

Fire Destroys Home

If you look at the tattoos she is supporting I truly believe those are true and ever present. The community came together to help a friend and helped bring light in a dark situation.

Do you have an example of true adversity that you have overcome and are willing to share it? Leave a summary in the comments on my Facebook page at

Sleep well the night before, eat a proper breakfast and come prepared with a few outfits, ideas of your own for the look you’re going for and expectations from yourself and your photographer.
